Primavera Chair

Denver Chair

Mermaid Chair

Our "Chairs" Series
"Chairs" is an ongoing series of paintings that have been sought after by our collectors for the last four years. The chairs represent people with differnt characterictics and personalities. We select a specific chair...French Provincial, Art Nouveau, or Post Modern...and we create an interpretation of a person or an object. We always keep the chair very realistic, but we add surreal or iconic, and sometimes ironic details.

The chairs measure 8 x 10" and are priced at $ 950 each.

Collector comments:

"I love the color and creativity that they display on the canvas, and enjoy the challenge of looking for the small details in each piece that whisper clues about its creation." (Mary Yockey)

"I collect the Ivanovs because of their talent, imagination and that they use egg tempera. I am also intrigued with their interest in Japanese images. Having visited Japan I have a reverence for the eastern ancient visual arts." (Karen Werner)

"I love the spontaneity and the vibrant, creative nature of each of their pieces. Just when you think you've seen them at their best, they present you with something new and breathtaking!" (Margaret Paul)

The talented husband and wife team immigrated to the United States in 2002. Today, they live and work together in their artist studio near Denver, Colorado . The two received their classical art education in Moscow , Russia --and have collaborated ever since. During their years in school, they focused their studies on classical drawing, live model painting, human anatomy, and art history. Upon graduation, the artists explored the world of Russian Iconography and European Renaissance for several years. As part of this exploration, they created a number of restorations, learned the secret techniques of egg tempera painting, and created gesso, gilding, and other methods of the ancient masters. In their current fine art work, O&A are successfully blending yesterday's old masters of iconography and Renaissance techniques, with today's contemporary art language. Many of O&A's fine art pieces are hanging in private collections across the U.S. and around the world. (e.g. England , Italy , Denmark , and Russia ) In addition, selected images of their art work have appeared in American Art Collector, South West Art, and LUX magazines. On the commercial illustration side, O&A have illustrated over 70 children's books in the highly competitive children's book marketplace. Three of their titles have sold more than 100,000 copies
