Sculpture

"Sculpting is my passage to reflection. The heart opens with hands forming peaceful intention. To develop this ability, I enter into life's experiences with an awakened awareness inspired by examining my motivation. In the process of hand forming clay, combining colorful glazes or varied firing methods with mixed media and unusual found objects, the foundation for balance emerges. Accidental discoveries and radical experimentation create excitement as the uncertainty results in new forms, color and surface treatments with an interesting mix of diversity and invention. We all have messages to communicate. My intention is to inform and draw others into contemplation."

Mary currently lives on a mesa overlooking the Colorado River with her husband and two dogs. Her work is in collections nationally and internationally.

Mary will exhibit in the Loveland Sculptural Invitational in August 2009
